Available Internships

We are pleased to inform you that 28 ITER Organization (IO) internship topics are advertised on the ITER website (https://www.iter.org/public/jobs/internships) until 06 January 2026. A further 25 will be published from 17 January 2026 until 28 February 2026 for the second wave of publication.

The ITER Organization offers internship opportunities to undergraduate and postgraduate students with the objective of providing these students with the opportunity to gain practical experience in their field of study, whilst collaborating in an international, scientific and multicultural environment.  Internships are offered for up to six months, extendable for up to one year.

The primary objective of ITER is the investigation and demonstration of burning plasmas—plasmas in which the energy of the helium nuclei produced by the fusion reactions is enough to maintain the temperature of the plasma, thereby reducing or eliminating the need for external heating. ITER will also test the availability and integration of technologies essential for a fusion reactor (such as superconducting magnets, remote maintenance, and systems to exhaust power from the plasma) and the validity of tritium breeding module concepts that would lead in a future reactor to tritium self-sufficiency.
