Course: ME 58100 (Numerical Methods in Mechanical Engineering, 3 cr) Course number: CRN 28700 Timing: 9:00 – 10:15 AM, TuTh (Fa25 semester) Location: ET 302 (Indianapolis) Instructor: Prof. Carlos Larriba-Andaluz Description: The solution of problems arising in mechanical engineering using numerical methods. Topics include nonlinear algebraic equations, sets of linear algebraic equations, eigenvalue problems, interpolation, curve fitting, ordinary differential equations, and partial differential equations. Applications include fluid mechanics, gas dynamics, heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics, vibrations, automatic control systems, kinematics, and design.

Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) Undergraduate Research and Professional Development Grant Up to $500; applications are open year-round; reviewed March 1 and October 1. Service-learning Student Grant
Individual: $100-$500 Teams: up to $1500; early bird submission Jan. 30, deadline Feb. 28 The Office of Experiential Education offers funding for student service-learning projects. The program expands Purdue students’ involvement in service-learning opportunities in partnership with communities, non-profit agencies, schools, and governmental bodies.
