SURF Program

The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURF) is an excellent opportunity for undergraduate students to gain hands-on research experience and explore advanced education and research careers. The program offers a 10-week immersive summer research experience, where selected students work either on Purdue’s West Lafayette or Indianapolis campuses with faculty and graduate student mentors.

Participants receive a paid summer research experience, professional development programming, and present their work at the SURF Symposium.

Eligible applicants include undergraduate students enrolled at Purdue University, other U.S. institutions, and international institutions.

Student applications for the Spring 2027 First Time Researcher (FTR) Fellowship are now open.
