Given the closure of campus, we will of course have to cancel the planned 4/1, 4/2 and 4/3 in-person language placement sessions. We are in the process of setting up many of our languages normally tested in-person in the FLPT lab for online testing. We will not be able to offer all of our language normally tested in the lab in online testing, but will still be able to place the majority of students who would normally come to the lab for testing.
Online testing will be offered for students in: French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Russian.
Students seeking placement in Mandarin Chinese, Heritage Spanish, Latin, Japanese, Korean will be offered in-person testing at a future date to be determined–we do not anticipate being able to offer online testing in these languages.
Students in all other SLC languages (ASL, Arabic, Portuguese, Hebrew) will need to stay in touch with faculty in their language to find out more about placement.
We are working to be able to offer testing still this semester online, and as soon as I can share more details about when and how students will be able to test, I will be in touch!
